The story behind my topic choice...

I chose this topic because I have always been interested in tennis.  As a teen, my mother played tennis and when I got old enough, she enrolled me into tennis lessons.  I've been taking them ever since.  Because I began such a young age, I grew to love the sport.  Now, I want to know more about tennis.  From where it originated, to how the sport was first played.  I have been told that during the 16th century in France, tennis was played with the palm of a hand.  I would like to find out if this is true.
